The HID EdgeReader is an economical and easy to use IP access control solution for a single door. This device is intended for mounting on internal walls providing entry access.
The polycarbonate enclosure fits in a single-gang electrical box, and has two LEDs that clearly display the device's current status. Also included is built-in 802.3af (PoE) power over Ethernet with 600 MAh, making cabling simpler, as one does not need an external power supply.
Designed to be administered remotely, information of most recent 5000 events, users, and administrators is all provided through a user friendly web-based interface that is built into the device no complicated software is required, just a web browser. The EdgeReader has the ability to manage 1000 card holder credentials, manage 8 schedules and 3 intervals each day. Everything is secured using SSL.
The HID EdgeReader Solo ESR40 is not just a door entry controller - it also has an integrated iCLASS reader, offering more advanced security and more powerful applications. The ESR40 can be converted from a stand-alone access control reader to a system reader in a host environment. Firmware is user-upgradeable and is easily migrated to an OEM host based system or CS that allows 44000 credentials, 65000 schedules, and full edge/VertX capacities.
