The HID RWKL550 LCD Keypad reader is a smart card reader with biometric verification that allows for a high level of security. In addition to smart card reading, the HID RWKL550 has a keypad for an extra layer of security and authentication.
The reader is compatible with most cards that currently exist on the market. The reader works with iCLASS 15693, 14443B, MIFARE, DESFire, and FIPS 201. Wiegand, HADP/OSDP and Clock-and-Data options are available.
The keypad reader LCD display is 60 x 18 mm, easy to view, and offers clear instructions on proper usage to the user. A host device can be setup to control the LCD display and control interaction with the user. The reader is designed in a way so that it is resistant to not only the forces of nature, but also resistant to vandalism.
The reader uses 64-bit authentication keys. Using encrypted 64-bit keys improves security by requiring the card and the reader to have matching keys to function. The secure algorithm employed reduces the risk of compromised keys or cards. Add this to PIN keypad verification, and you have a very secure system.
As HADP and OSDP support is available, the HID RWKL550 also allows you keep track of real-time information, such as keeping track of the hours worked by your employees, card balances and attendance.
