The HID R90 long range smart card reader is part of the iCLASS family of smart card readers. Applications that the HID R90 long range smart card readers are usually found in are parking control access and other applications where the read range is a more than 3 inches or so. The 13.56 MHz technology platform is used with the HID R90 long range smart card reader to combine the long read range with the security of smart card technology. A strong LED light is also found on the HIDR90 long range smart card reader to provide clear and visual feedback to the cardholder, as well as distinct tone sequences to convey status conditions.
